Google AdSense officially announced that their search features is now powered by Custom Search.

New that AdSense search use Custom Search Engine (CSE) features, you know choose to provide just site search, so users can find the information they’re searching for with out leaving your site. You can also host the search results on you blog page and not only that if you’re using CSE for your blog you page index by Google faster then ever before, so that your users see more results from your AdSense search results.

As admin (you) can also allow your users to search multiple sites at the same time with out leaving your site and you can decide which sites the results should be displayed from.

Also you can configure you search engine with specify keywords so that the searches are relevant to those keywords.

As for AdSense you can decide where ads to appear (top, bottom or on the right side just like Google search).
